DASH/ HTS LC/MS Columns
- The benchmark in based deactivated silica columns
- Sharp peaks and improved symmetry for basic compounds
- Value and performance from a globally referenced column
DASH HTS columns are packed to the same high standards as our analytical columns, and offer superioir chromatographic resolution in a design that eliminates the need for endfittings and wrenches during column change over. This makes column installation and change over faster for high through put systems.
DASH HTS columns are offered in 20x2.1mm size in a variety of high performance 5µm particle size phases – including Hypercarb, BioBasic, AQUASIL C18 and BETASIL.
As the columns are designed for high throughput laboratories, we offer a cost-effective solution in DASH HTS multi-packs. Packs of 3 and 10 columns can be purchased, with a quality control packing certificate for one column in every pack.
We recommend DASH HTS columns are used with PEEK® tubing and endfittings. We offer a DASH endfitting and a 0.5µm porosity DASH filter, which are both knurled in black PEEK finish for ease of use.
DASH HTS columns are available in any Thermo Scientific phase in single or multi packs. Please contact us for more information if you do not see the exact column that you are interested in.

Capillary and nanobore columns are ideal for applications which require high sensitivity. However, in order to take full benefit of the improvement in performance when capillary and nanobore columns are used, band dispersion, which causes sample dilution and loss of sensitivity, needs to be minimized. Using short lengths of capillary connecting tubing and optimal injection volumes can minimize extra-column band dispersion in LC/MS analysis.
Designed to give exceptional results under demanding LC/MS conditions, KAPPA capillary and nanobore columns are manufactured from inert tubing with internal diameters of 500, 320, 180, 100 and 75µm. Lengths are available in 50, 100, 150 and 250mm, as well as 30mm guard columns (500, 320 and 180µm ID) for extending analytical column lifetime. All columns terminate in unions that are compatible with 10-32 male nuts and 1/16” OD capillary tubing. The stainless steel sleeve makes KAPPA columns robust and easy to handle.
KAPPA capillary and nanobore columns are available in a wide variety of Thermo Scientific phases, including BioBasic, HyPURITY, BetaBasic and Hypercarb packings. If you do not see the phase or dimension you are interested in, please inquire. KAPPA capillaries are also available in a flexible fused silica design with 1/32” PEEK fittings at both ends of the column to connect to the 10-port switching valves. KAPPA capillary and nanobore columns are ideal for high sensitivity LC/MS applications when sample size is limited. KAPPA column sizes are ideal to use with microelectrospray and nanospray. Analytes at the picomole and femtomole levels can easily be detected, identified and quantified.
KAPPA capillary guards are designed to extend the lifetime of KAPPA columns. They protect the analytical column from particulates and from contamination from the sample or mobile phases. KAPPA guards are available in 30mm length and 500, 320 and 180µm IDs. Please contact your local Thermo Fisher Scientific office for more information.
Nanoflow Column
-
75 μm and 150 μm ID for greater sensitivity
-
Wide choice of stationary phases for alternative selectivity options
-
Ideal for LC/MS applications
Thermo Scientific columns are available in nanobore formats for nanospray LC/MS applications. At flow rates of nL/min versus mL/min, they offer higher sensitivity with greater signal-to-noise ratio than traditional capillary columns used with electrospray. Analytes can be detected, identified and quantified at femtomole levels and below.
IntegraFrit™ columns have an integral highporosity frit, behind which is the packed chromatography bed. The frit end of the fused-silica column is polished flat to ensure a clean connection to the emitter of choice. PicoFrit® columns eliminate post-column performance losses by spraying directly from the column tapered end, boosting MS performance compared to that provided by a column attached to a tip.
Stationary Phases
Thermo Scientific nanobore columns are available in a wide variety of packing materials to suit the wide diversity of biomolecules. BioBasic columns offer silica in C18, C8 and C4 plus SCX phase, all with a 300A pore size for larger biomolecules. Hypersil GOLD columns offer outstanding peak shape plus 1.9 μm particles for enhanced speed and efficiency Hypersil GOLD aQ is a polar endcapped C18 stationary phase that can be used with 100% aqueous mobile phases. Hypersil GOLD PFP offers alternative selectivity, particularly where an analyte contains an aromatic ring. For very polar molecules such as oligosaccharides, nucleotides, nucleosides and hydrophilic peptides, Hypercarb offers retention and separation without derivatization.
